Twitter cross-posting in different social media networks | Tech Help for Churches

Twitter: Why cross posting to other social networks is a problem | Tech Help for Churches

On today’s Tech Help for Churches, twitter cross-posting to different social media networks?

[tweet “Should you cross-post from Twitter to other social media networks? Yes…and no.”]

Whether you cross-post isn’t a simple yes or no question. Sometimes you’ll want to and other times you won’t. It really depends on the nature of the post, the nature of each of your accounts, etc.

For example, since FaceBook is the network for all the people you know already, it could be that they don’t care about certain aspects of your work life like those on Linked in do.

With Google+ some circles will care and others won’t.

Don’t forget the limitations of each network either. Twitter’s 140 characters might seem abrupt in comparison to the longer posts available on FaceBook or Google+.

Posts without pictures could work in Facebook, but won’t on Instagram or Pinterest.

Whatever you do, don’t start conversations by cross-posting only to ignore responses because you don’t go to that network.
