ProPresenter 5 Tutorials: Kinetic Typography without a Click-track
[tweet “Can’t use a click-track, but want kinetic typography? Try this trick:”]Wouldn’t it be great if ProPresenter 5 allowed you to create kinetic typography and then play it back, in time, with your live music without using a click track?
It doesn’t. Sorry.
You can try this trick, though, to make it work anyway.
You will need Apple’s Motion (available in the Apple App store for $50) or AfterEffects to get this to work.
The idea is actually pretty simple, but ingenious how it works. You take the text and animate it coming in, but then end the video file with the text still. The next slide starts with an identical still that then animates out.
By exporting these videos as ProRes 4444 with an alpha channel (and a transparent background), you’re able to show whatever background video you want, even changing it during the song and keep the illusion that the words are constantly moving.
Because each “slide” is its own self-contained video, you can keep it up as long as you want, so the band can play as quickly or as slowly as they want.
