ProPresenter Tutorial: Faking the Telestrator in older versions
[tweet “If you don’t have ProPresenter 6, you can do something like a telestrator, but it’s not perfect. Here’s how:”]Perhaps with the release of the beta of ProPresenter 6, you’re excited to try the telestrator feature, but you’re not excited to do it during your weekend service, since the software is still in Beta. What can you do? There is a way to fake it.
First, you need software that can draw on the screen. I’m using Omnidazzle, but it’s no longer being developed, so you can download an alternative here, if you prefer.
Next, you need to make sure that the checkbox to display ProPresenter on the top most layer is turned off in ProPresenter settings.
That’s the easy part. Now, you need to make sure that whoever is using the software can see the main display because unlike telestrator, they have to draw directly on that, not the control screen. Also, the forthcoming update to the ProPresenter remote app won’t support this, so you’ll have to find another way to do it (VPN maybe) remotely if the computer isn’t located with the pastor.
