On today’s Tech Help for Churches, YouTube: Embedding playlists not single videosI’ve talked about embedding before. Something has recently occurred to me though. Maybe single videos aren’t the best choice to embed.
[tweet “Maybe your church should embed playlists from YouTube, not single videos. Here’s why:”]You might have noticed that I’ve started embedding playlists instead. Why? I noticed that someone I follow who releases a video each week does it.
Now, that’s not good enough reason to do it, but I noticed that I was watching more of his videos because I didn’t have to do anything special to do it. I just had to let the video play.
YouTube already has a feature where they pick the videos that autoplay next, but I always turn that off. They’re not great at choosing which should come next.
By embedding a playlist, I get to choose what comes next.
So, I can either cater to the people who meant to watch my last one or help people discover my other shows. Pretty cool, right?
Want to know more reasons why? Watch the video and tell me if you think it’s a good idea or just annoying.
