ProPresenter 6 Tutorial: Using Props

ProPresenter is built on the metaphor of layers. Most churches use the slides layer and the background layer. Pro6 can do more, though.

[tweet “Sometimes, you need to add something to your presentation that’s persistent. This is how I’d do it using props:”]

Above the slides layer is a layer called props. It can be used to add a “bug” (a little logo) on top of the video, but that’s not all it can do.

Basically, anything that you can put into the slides layer, you can put into the props layer. If you want to draw something with the bezier curves feature in pro6, you can. If you want to add a PNG or a prores 4444 video with transparency, you can. Need to draw a simple box shape? You can put it there, too. Heck, you could even add a live feed from a webcam. This actually might be helpful if your pastor wants to show an object up close and you don’t normally do IMAG. Just put the webcam close enough that he can show the object as a PIP over message slides, which, since they’re on the slides layer, can switch while keeping the props intact.

Unlike masks, you can use multiple props at a time, so you’re really only limited by your imagination in using them.
