Podcasting: Using BossJock Studio as a field recorder

On today’s Tech Help for Churches, Podcasting: Using BossJock Studio as a field recorder

I’ve been working with my church’s children’s ministry recently and I needed to do a shoot at a vineyard with the least gear I could get by with. That’s when I decided to try using BossJock Studio on my iPad instead of a field recorder.

Here are the (affiliate links for Amazon and regular links for the app store) for what I used:

XLR to smartphone cable: http://amzn.to/29mpPqs
iRig pre for phantom powered mics: http://amzn.to/29uytCw (I didn’t actually use this in this case, but I could have if I needed phantom).
BossJock studio: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bossjock-studio/id531205021?mt=8
BossJock Jr: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bossjock-jr/id826651276?mt=8

BossJock Studio is designed to be a recording app for podcasters (which is why I had it), but it includes a very important feature – live audio monitoring.

For you, the ability to have and fire audio carts means that the pastor could record a podcast which needs almost no post production.

Take a look and see if it (along with an external microphone) don’t give you some really good quality.
