If you depend on a displaylink USB adapter, MacOS 10.13.4 messed that up. So, here’s how to get displaylink usb video adapters to work in MacOS High Sierra (10.13.4).
First, go to http://www.displaylink.com/downloads/macos to download the latest driver (I’m using Beta 4).
Next, click on the link that says “our article” in the black box above the drivers or just go to https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1854724.
Once you’ve done that. First, uninstall any previous versions of the driver. Then restart. Then install the driver you just downloaded. Reboot again.

From there go to “Security and privacy.” Then go to “Accessibility” and look for “Display user agent.” Check that. (You might have to unlock the security option with an admin password to do this).
Now, plug in your USB video card. You should see an icon in the system tray that allows you to change mirroring options.
Do that and then adjust the arrangement and resolution of your USB display.
In the video, I go on to test it in ProPresenter and it works as expected. So, make sure you watch that.
