Imagine that you want to do environmental projection. Wouldn’t it be great if you could sometimes mask out certain pieces and sometimes not? Yep.
How do you do this? It’s pretty simple. If you know that there are some pieces that always need to stay in place, start with those. Create a mask for each possible combination that you’re likely to use. Now, add in the pieces that sometimes are there to one of the masks.
From the mask dialog, clicking on a mask will make that one active and replace the current mask. If two masks are identical, except one contains an additional piece, adding the new mask will have only that piece apparently affected. Clicking back will do the opposite.
So, while you can only have one mask active at a time, each mask can be composed of many pieces so that it seems like you can add and remove only one piece at a time.
