I built this ministry because I believe God told me to, but I know it matters to churches what I mean by “God” because not everyone means the same thing. So, in order to clarify, here’s what I believe.
It’s actually fairly normal.
And now for the important stuff:
I believe in God, the Father, Jesus, the Son and the Holy Spirit. They’re separate, co-equal members of the single Godhead, the Trinity.
The Bible is God’s word applicable to every aspect of our lives. The virgin birth and Resurrection are literally true and happened as Christ will return some day.
Salvation is by grace through faith as a result of the atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross. It’s personal and not the result of works, but the result of salvation is not only eternal reward, but good works here and now. Salvation changes a person into a “new creation” and while that’s a process, there should be some fruit in your life that grows over time.
A little more background:
I attend a Christian and Missionary Alliance church in Lexington, KY, was raised Southern Baptist, and graduated from a Methodist Seminary.
I’m a bit of a theological mutt, but I prefer to concentrate on what unites us as Christians and not what divides us. Other than what I mentioned above, I think most of that falls into the category of “disputable matters” like meat sacrificed to idols in Romans 14.
